Ukraine Strikes Russian Space Center as US Pressures Iran

Ukraine launched long-range missile strikes against Russian infrastructure, specifically targeting the Progress Rocket and Space Center in the Samara region. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also claimed a drone strike on the Savasleyka airbase in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In response, the Russian Defense Ministry reported downing 598 Ukrainian drones and launched attacks on military warehouses in the Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Yuzhny, and Izmail.

Simultaneously, the United States is intensifying economic pressure on Iran after six months of conflict. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced upcoming economic measures described as unprecedented, alongside a continued naval blockade of Iranian ports intended to force Tehran's capitulation. This escalation follows attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, including a tanker and two Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. vessels.

The United Arab Emirates attributed these maritime attacks to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. President Donald Trump continues to push for economic pressure to avoid the expansion of military campaigns, citing Iran's internal financial instability.
