JD Vance Admits Trump Administration Mishandled Epstein Files Release
Vice President JD Vance admitted the Trump administration mishandled communications regarding Jeffrey Epstein files, attributing failures to former Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Vice President JD Vance admitted on a Joe Rogan podcast episode released Wednesday that the Trump administration mishandled the release and communications of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Vance stated the administration was guilty of these failures and absolutely screwed up the communications, though he denied any malicious intent to hide information. He attributed the confusion largely to former Attorney General Pam Bondi, who claimed in February 2025 that a client list was on her desk and distributed binders to influencers that primarily contained public information.
Vance argued the administration should have released all materials more quickly, while noting the necessity of protecting victim identities. During the interview, he also alleged that Epstein had connections to the highest levels of American and Israeli intelligence, specifically the CIA and Mossad, though he provided no evidence for these claims.
Separately, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche testified during a congressional confirmation hearing that the Justice Department made redaction mistakes while reviewing millions of files. This follows the bipartisan passage of the 2025 Epstein Files Transparency Act in November, which mandated the release of over 2 million documents by December 19. The process has faced further scrutiny after a class-action suit alleged the department failed to protect nearly 100 survivors and newly released documents surfaced containing unverified assault allegations against Donald Trump from the 1980s.
