Trump Ignored Intelligence on Chinese Spy Linked to Nvidia

President Donald Trump reportedly declined to act on intelligence that a Megaspeed executive spied for China using connections to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

American intelligence agencies have concluded that Alice Huang, a senior executive at the Singapore-based data center firm Megaspeed, operated as a Chinese intelligence asset. Investigators found that Huang used a close relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to funnel information to Beijing. President Donald Trump was briefed on these findings approximately one year ago but took no action, reportedly to avoid disrupting Nvidia's economic influence and complicating trade relations with China.

Federal investigators suspect Megaspeed facilitated the illegal acquisition of advanced Nvidia chips for China. A sister company based in Malaysia purchased 4.8 billion dollars in AI equipment between June 2024 and February 2026. While Nvidia asserts it complies with all laws and characterizes the interactions as ordinary business, the U.S. Commerce Department has referred the Megaspeed investigation to the Justice Department.

Reports suggest that Jensen Huang's personal ties to Trump, including a 20 million dollar contribution to Trump's ballroom fund, may have stalled sanctions and official probes into the company.
