James Talarico Offers Bipartisan Cooperation to Donald Trump

Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico proposed working with President Donald Trump on housing and healthcare, though the White House dismissed the offer as disingenuous.

Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Texas, James Talarico, announced his willingness to collaborate with President Donald Trump to fulfill the promises of the Make America Great Again movement. Speaking on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Talarico proposed bipartisan efforts to expand healthcare access, improve childcare, reform education, and reduce regulatory red tape to increase the construction of millions of new homes.

Talarico suggested that the midterm elections could serve as a wake-up call or a rebirth for the presidency by providing a check on power and encouraging the administration to serve working people. He expressed a desire to work with the president to deliver for those who have been forgotten in the country.

President Donald Trump and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed these overtures. Trump mocked Talarico on Truth Social, labeling him Democrat Communist James Talafreako and accusing him of wanting to dismantle capitalism and the Texas oil and gas industry. Leavitt characterized Talarico as a radical leftist and argued his offer was disingenuous, citing his past comments on border security, gender, and Christianity.

Talarico is currently running for the U.S. Senate against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. While the race is described as a toss-up, some prediction markets and polls indicate Talarico holds a lead.
