Ukraine Hits Russian Airfield as Russia Strikes Ports and Data Centers

Ukrainian forces conducted a massive overnight drone strike on the Tsentralny military airfield in Rostov-on-Don, destroying one An-12 aircraft, two An-26s, and three helicopters. Volodymyr Zelensky praised the operation as a precise strike and confirmed a simultaneous hit on the Yaroslavl oil refinery. These attacks occurred despite claims by U.S. President Donald Trump that both nations had agreed to avoid energy targets.

In response, the Russian Armed Forces launched a series of coordinated strikes across Ukraine. In Kyiv, Russian forces targeted the De Novo data center, which reportedly stored intelligence used to target Russian facilities. Other strikes hit critical logistics corridors, including the destruction of two major bridges across the Dnestr River and the disruption of power infrastructure at the port of Izmail.

Russian forces also targeted maritime logistics, striking cargo ships in the ports of Chornomorsk and Izmail. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that these operations targeted vessels delivering military supplies and munitions to frontline troops.

Simultaneously, Russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure. An FPV drone struck a passenger bus in Zaporizhzhia, injuring five people. This followed a strike on a bus in Nikopol the previous day that killed five. Ukrainian officials report that Russian forces have attacked railway infrastructure over 1,500 times since the start of 2026, including recent attempts on trains carrying Western diplomats.
