U.S. Strike on Qeshm Island Kills Three Iranian Civilians

The United States conducted an overnight strike on a residential building on Qeshm Island in southern Iran on July 30, 2026. The attack killed three civilians: taxi driver Qaisar Jafari, his wife Zahra, and their two-year-old son Sina.

Iranian officials condemned the operation. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei characterized the event as a criminal attack and stated that such actions strengthen the determination of the Iranian people to defend their homeland. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf denounced the strike as part of a pattern of attacks on civilian areas, warning that the U.S. would pay the price.

In response to the casualties, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned the United States and its regional accomplices that Iran would provide a harsh and firm response to the strike.
