UK Transfers Stone Cloak Technology to Ukraine During Zelensky Visit
Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced the transfer of Stone Cloak electronic warfare intellectual property to Ukraine during President Volodymyr Zelensky's first official visit to the UK.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday for the leader's first international visit since taking office. During a visit to a naval base, Burnham announced that the United Kingdom will transfer the intellectual property of the Stone Cloak electronic warfare system to Ukraine, enabling Kyiv to produce the drone-protection technology at scale.
The visit included a meeting with over 200 Ukrainian military personnel currently participating in Exercise Sea Breeze in the UK. President Zelensky proposed a Drone Deal to establish a large drone factory in Britain, offering to share Ukrainian experience and new technologies with British partners.
Burnham used the occasion to reiterate the government's commitment to defense spending, targeting 3.5% of GDP by 2035, with a broader 5% goal including resilience and security as agreed at a Nato summit in the Hague. Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband affirmed the UK's resolute and steadfast commitment to supporting Ukraine as the conflict continues.
