Trump Links Iran War End to Midterm Election Results

President Donald Trump predicts the war with Iran will end after the November midterms while launching a campaign to brand Democrats as communists.

President Donald Trump predicted that the seven-month war with Iran will conclude shortly after the November midterm elections. Speaking during a visit to Ireland, Trump claimed Iranian officials are calling constantly to secure an agreement, though he insisted the U.S. will only accept a favorable settlement that denies Iran nuclear weapons. He asserted that gasoline prices, currently averaging $4.31 a gallon, will drop like a rock once hostilities cease.

Trump linked his future aggression toward Iran to the election outcome, suggesting in an interview that he would be much more angry and would take care of business if Republicans lose. He also floated the possibility of the U.S. maintaining a regional presence to control energy resources. Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that Iran will not yield to bullying arrogance, and the Mehr News Agency dismissed Trump's claims as absurd.

Domestically, Trump headlined the first-ever Republican midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, where he urged voters to treat the election as a referendum on his presidency. He proposed $5,000 payouts to every U.S. adult if Republicans retain control of Congress. During the event, Trump and other party leaders launched a campaign to brand the Democratic Party as communists, claiming they pose a mortal threat to American liberty. This strategy aims to counter voter discontent over the cost of living and the ongoing conflict with Iran.
