This diplomatic engagement follows a period of expanding strategic cooperation. The two nations have participated in joint air combat exercises, specifically INIOCHOS and Tarang Shakti. In June 2026, both countries reiterated their commitment to combating cross-border terrorism.
Earlier this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met in February to discuss artificial intelligence collaboration and efforts to boost connectivity through the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor.
