Australian Envoy Praises India's Leadership in Quad Dialogue

Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green praised the global diplomatic leadership of India and the expanding scale of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) during statements in New Delhi. Green characterized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar as "giants" on the world stage.

Green noted that the Quad—which includes Australia, India, Japan, and the United States—is increasing its coherence through practical regional interventions. These efforts focus on maritime domain awareness, subsea cables, and the Indo-Pacific Logistics Network to strengthen stability in the region.

Beyond multilateral security, Green advocated for deeper bilateral cooperation between Australia and India in agriculture, agri-tech, and healthcare. He specifically highlighted the potential for Australian cochlear implant technology to assist Indian citizens with profound hearing loss. Regarding the BRICS grouping, Green clarified that while Australia respects the role of the organization, it is not a member.
