Vice President JD Vance announced that the primary objective of the United States in its conflict with Iran is to maintain low oil and gasoline prices for American consumers. The administration is transitioning toward a strategy of economic pressure and naval blockades. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned of imminent economic isolation measures of unprecedented severity. While Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth asserted that the U.S. can sustain its naval blockade indefinitely, reports indicate that military options are constrained by the depletion of high-tech missile stocks, including Patriot interceptors, which have fallen below 1,700 units.

Since the conflict began on February 28, President Donald Trump has issued varying objectives, ranging from demands for unconditional surrender to claims of total control over Iranian finances.
