Zelenskyy Launches Long-Range Missile Campaign Against Russian Industry

Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiated a 40-day campaign of escalated strikes, utilizing new FP-5 Flamingo missiles to target military and oil infrastructure across Russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched a 40-day military campaign of intensified pressure on Russia to compel Moscow to end the war and enter direct peace negotiations. As part of this operation, Ukrainian forces conducted an overnight long-range missile strike on the Titan-Barrikady plant in the Volgograd region, a facility that produces artillery systems and components for Iskander-M missile launchers.

Zelenskyy confirmed the attack utilized the domestically developed FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile, which has a reported range of 3,000 kilometers. Volgograd Governor Andrei Bocharov reported that 10 people were injured in the strike on the Krasnooktyabrsky district and that resulting fires were eventually controlled.

Ukraine expanded its operations with a strike on an oil pumping facility in the Vladimir region and a massive drone assault targeting Crimea and a dozen other Russian regions. While the Office of Inspectors General reported the interception of 660 Ukrainian drones, Russia countered with its own drone strike on a private residence in the Sumy region of Ukraine, which killed a 66-year-old man. President Vladimir Putin has rejected the proposals for peace negotiations.
