Trump Proposes Peace Plan for Russia and Ukraine

President Donald Trump proposed a draft peace plan to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, suggesting upcoming trilateral talks may occur remotely.

President Donald Trump proposed a draft peace plan to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, indicating that upcoming trilateral talks between the three nations may not occur in person. While Trump stated a meeting is set to happen soon, he noted the process could be conducted through other means.

The draft plan includes the creation of a demilitarized zone in Donbas and requires Ukraine to abandon its NATO aspirations in exchange for an investment package and European Union membership. For Russia, the proposal suggests lifting sanctions, normalizing political relations, and resuming gas supplies to Europe via Nord Stream.

President Vladimir Putin has reacted positively to reports of reduced U.S. intelligence-sharing with Ukraine and demands that Kyiv halt attacks on Russian oil refineries. However, Putin maintains that the military operation will continue until Russia achieves its goals, including the permanent recognition of annexed territories.
