Israel Vows Further Offensives as Iran Lifts Missile Limits

Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that the mission against Iran is not complete while Tehran lifted missile range limits following U.S. strikes on Qeshm Island.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Sunday that the mission against Iran is not complete, accusing Tehran of reviving its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. Speaking at a memorial ceremony in Jerusalem, Katz asserted that Israel cannot tolerate these threats and must maintain a proactive, offensive policy to protect its citizens.

These warnings follow recent minor strikes by the United States against Iranian air defenses on Qeshm Island. While U.S. President Donald Trump claimed previous operations destroyed Iran's nuclear enrichment capabilities, the IAEA has been unable to verify uranium stockpiles. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it has lifted its 2,000 km missile range limit, and Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that renewed attacks would trigger an immediate response without geographical restrictions.

Domestically, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for a national unity government consisting of the national camp and Zionist parties. Netanyahu characterized a government dependent on Arab parties or Hamas supporters as national suicide, arguing such a coalition would be unable to fight Hamas or confront the Iranian threat. This political tension follows the defeat of Netanyahu's coalition in the October 27 election. Meanwhile, Iran has submitted a proposal to Washington via Qatar demanding an end to U.S. sanctions and a naval blockade to resume negotiations.
