Trump Convenes Cabinet at Camp David to Discuss Iran Conflict

Donald Trump convened his 13th Cabinet meeting of his second term on Friday at the Camp David retreat in Maryland. The administration is focusing on foreign policy as it manages a five-month conflict involving tit-for-tat strikes against Iranian targets.

The military action has led to spiking gasoline prices and a decline in public approval. A recent Reuters-Ipsos poll shows that only one in three Americans support the conflict, creating political pressure for Republicans ahead of the November midterm elections, where Democrats are attempting to take control of the U.S. Congress.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt described the retreat as "a lot of fun and something different for the cabinet to experience together." Following the conclusion of the session, the president is scheduled to travel to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
