ANC Veterans League Condemns US Ambassador's Abuse of Ramaphosa

The ANC Veterans League condemned US Ambassador Leo Brent Bozell III for directing vituperative and undiplomatic verbal abuse toward South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The League described the ambassador's conduct as a "shocking exercise in nihilism and bad-faith diplomacy," framing the incident as part of a broader pressure campaign by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

According to the League, the United States is attempting to undermine South Africa's decision to charge the Israeli government under Benjamin Netanyahu with war crimes at the International Criminal Court. This diplomatic friction occurs as South Africa faces a November 22 deadline to submit an additional dossier of abuses in Palestine to the court.

The League further alleged that the US is weaponizing sanctions and trade to interfere in South African domestic policies and advance a "racist agenda."
