Zelenskyy Accuses Russia of Helping Iran Target U.S. Bases

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of providing critical satellite imagery and electronic intelligence to the Government of Iran to facilitate strikes against U.S. military assets and Israeli energy infrastructure. Citing Ukrainian intelligence from the HUR and SBU, Zelenskyy stated that Russian satellites conducted at least 24 surveys of 46 sites across 11 countries between March 21 and 31, 2026. He specifically linked this surveillance to a March 26 Iranian attack on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, which wounded at least 15 American service members.

Zelenskyy further alleged that Russian satellites imaged the joint US-UK base on Diego Garcia and 55 critical energy targets in Israel. He expressed "100 percent" confidence in these findings and criticized the Trump administration for ignoring the evidence due to a misplaced trust in Vladimir Putin. Other European leaders, including Kaja Kallas and Jean-Noël Barrot, supported these claims, warning that Russia is helping Iran "kill Americans."

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied sharing intelligence, though he admitted to sending military equipment to Tehran. Meanwhile, White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales stated that external support for Iran has not affected U.S. operational success. Amid these tensions, Zelenskyy has positioned Ukraine as a regional security partner, signing defense agreements with Saudi Arabia and Qatar to provide drone defense expertise in exchange for advanced air-defense missiles.
