President Donald Trump teased upcoming policy reveals regarding diesel and a major initiative from Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought during a Columbus Day celebration in the White House East Room. Trump described Vought's forthcoming project as something that would be "so good for our country."
These announcements follow a series of energy-focused actions by the administration ahead of the midterm elections. On Monday, Trump signed an executive order in Nebraska to increase the availability of red-dyed diesel. He further noted that a "big announcement" regarding diesel is coming soon.
In addition to domestic policy, Trump recently announced a deal for the South Korean government to invest up to $200 billion in United States energy infrastructure. This investment includes the construction of a natural gas pipeline in Alaska.
