S. Jaishankar Attends G20 and Quad Meetings in Atlanta

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is attending G20 and Quad meetings in Atlanta before traveling to Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar arrived in Atlanta on October 29 to participate in a two-day G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting beginning October 30. Chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the ministerial focuses on energy security, supply chains for critical minerals, and the maintenance of open sea lanes for oil, LNG, and fertilizer imports.

The United States Department of State describes the meeting as a return to the G20's core economic mission of driving growth and security under the leadership of President Donald Trump. These discussions serve as a precursor to the G20 Leaders' Summit, which President Trump will host in Miami on December 14-15. While in Atlanta, Jaishankar is also participating in a Quad foreign ministers' meeting alongside counterparts from the U.S., Japan, and Australia.

Following the engagements in the United States, Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, from November 1 to 4. The summit, themed 'Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth,' aims to mobilize investment and strengthen cooperation among member nations.
