Modi to Visit Florida for G20 Summit and Trade Talks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to travel to Florida in December to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit, hosted by President Donald Trump on December 14 and 15. The visit will include a bilateral meeting between Modi and Trump to address trade tensions, specifically the United States' threat to impose 100 per cent tariffs on Indian imports resulting from India's purchase of Russian oil.

Beyond the G20 agenda, preparations are underway for a Quad leaders' meeting involving India, the United States, Japan, and Australia. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor stated that Modi is a priority for President Trump, who considers the Indian Prime Minister a friend.

Following the summit in Florida, Modi may travel to Canada for bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Mark Carney. These talks are expected to focus on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two nations.
