President Pezeshkian to Meet Vladimir Putin in Moscow

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will visit Moscow next week to discuss strategic partnerships and regional conflicts with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow next week to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments. The visit follows recent diplomatic talks in Tehran between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, which focused on expanding political and economic ties and strengthening a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The meeting takes place amid heightened tensions in West Asia involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. President Putin has stated that Russia is prepared to help Iran resolve regional conflicts through diplomatic means, noting that trade between the two nations grew by over 21 percent in 2025.

While strengthening ties with Russia, President Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran will remain at the negotiating table with the United States. He noted that despite previous attacks occurring during diplomatic engagements, Iran will not withdraw from those negotiations.
