Donald Trump Campaigns in Texas for Senate Candidate Ken Paxton

President Donald Trump is visiting Texas to support Ken Paxton in a competitive U.S. Senate race against Democrat James Talarico.

President Donald Trump is returning to Texas on October 27 to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton. Trump is scheduled to hold rallies in Lubbock in the afternoon and Waco in the evening, marking his third trip to the state this month. Trump claims his previous rallies have shifted the momentum of the race in Paxton's favor, stating that they have changed the whole ballgame.

Paxton, the Texas Attorney General, is locked in a tight contest with Democratic nominee James Talarico. Recent polling shows Talarico with a narrow lead, with University of Houston polling placing him at 48 percent to Paxton's 46 percent, while CBS and FOX polls show Talarico ahead 51 percent to 49 percent. The candidates held competing rallies in Fort Worth on the first day of early voting, where Paxton accused Talarico of being a radical on social and economic issues. Talarico responded by calling Paxton the most corrupt politician in Texas, citing allegations of securities fraud.

As part of his statewide Clear Eyes, Full Hearts Tour, Talarico will hold a community rally at Texas Tech University on October 27, coinciding with Trump's visit to Lubbock. The race is centered on the cost of living, immigration, and the future of conservative values. Tensions have also risen in Tarrant County over a decision by the Commissioners Court to reduce Election Day polling locations by approximately one-third, a move Democrats describe as an attack on minority neighborhoods.
