Trump Says War With Iran Will End Very Soon
President Donald Trump claims the U.S. has crippled Iran's military and must now choose between a diplomatic deal or total destruction.
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the conflict with Iran will end soon, asserting that the United States has severely weakened the nation. Speaking at a White House event, Trump claimed the U.S. maintains almost total control of the Strait of Hormuz and noted that oil flows through the waterway have reached historic levels over the last three days.
Trump stated the U.S. faces a choice to either reach a deal or "blow them up," noting that 18 Americans have died in the conflict. This assessment was supported by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who informed military leaders at Quantico that American forces have destroyed Iran's navy, air force, defense systems, and military-industrial capacity, while also crippling its nuclear ambitions.
Diplomatic relations deteriorated as Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation to leave New York after negotiations stalled. Separately, Araghchi rejected accusations from British Prime Minister Andy Burnham that Iran was involved in an incident at RAF Fairford, claiming the United Kingdom was mistaken in its assertions.
